The Fidra Course was created shortly after Dirleton due to a huge redevelopment of the land, DJ Russell responsible for the design. Opening in the mid-2000s, the course takes its name from nearby Fidra Island and its famous lighthouse which golfers can see in the distance from several holes across the Archfield land.
The course has a unique mixture of woodland and links golf, beginning among tall Scots pines before opening into more traditional coastal linksland later in the round. Measuring close to 7,000 yards from its longest tees, the front 9 wind through towering pine trees sheltering golfers from the strong winds giving golfers a chance to score well. The back 9 possess rolling fairways, large greens and changing coastal winds create a challenging but enjoyable golfing experience.
Fidra is currently ranked 63rd in Scotland by Top 100 Golf Courses. The course has hosted a number of professional tournaments including the Scottish Senior Open and the European Tour’s Paul Lawrie Match Play
