Ardglass Golf Club

Ardglass Golf Club was founded in 1896, with the original course consisting of only seven holes squeezed into the land that are now the 1st and 18th fairways. The links expanded to nine holes in 1907 and remained largely unchanged for several decades before additional land allowed the course to become eighteen holes during the late 1960s. Further redesigns were made by David Jones in 1998 after more land was purchased.

The rugged coastline course offers a spectacular golfing experience, offering stunning views of the Irish Sea. The par 70 course is relatively short, measuring 6216 yards from the tips. However, with its fast greens, challenging pot bunkers, and ever-present sea breeze,it can create a tough experience for even the low handicap golfers.

Ardglass is currently ranked 41st in Ireland by Irish Golfer and 9th in Northern Ireland by Golf Digest. Although it has not hosted the same major championships as nearby Royal County Down, the course has a strong reputation for championship links golf.
