Ballyliffin- Old Course

Ballyliffin Golf Club was founded in 1947 and originally opened as a modest local course before the present Old Links began taking shape during the early 1970s. Eddie Hackett, Charles Lawrie and Frank Pennink all contributed ideas to the extension and improvement of the layout, while further improvements were made by Nick Faldo in 2005.

The Old Links provides a classic Donegal links experience with low rolling fairways, natural dunes, deep revetted bunkers and strong Atlantic winds. Measuring over 6900 yards from the tips, the uneven lies, strong winds and firm ground place great importance on strategy and course management.

The course has previously hosted the Irish Seniors Open and Irish Ladies Open and Top 100 courses currently rank the course 21st in the country.
