Carne Golf Links

Carne Golf Links was originally designed by renowned Irish architect Eddie Hackett, with the first eighteen-hole course opening during the early 1990s after years of development across the enormous dunes. A further nine holes were later created by Ally McIntosh and Jim Engh in 2013 and In 2020 these newer holes were combined with the back nine of the Hackett Course to create the Wild Atlantic Dunes layout.

The course runs through some of the largest natural dunes found on any golf course in Europe, with dramatic elevation changes, blind shots and uneven lies throughout the round. Wide fairways twist between towering sand hills while exposed greens and strong Atlantic winds make accurate positioning extremely important.

Carne golf links has not hoasted many prestigious competitions however its rugged wild setting and natural design have caused it to be regarded very highly across the country. The course is currently ranked 11th in Ireland and Northern ireland.
