Carnoustie Golf Club (Open Championship Venue)

Established in 1842, Allan Robertson created a ten-hole course before Old Tom Morris expanded the links to eighteen holes in 1873. Five-time Open Champion James Braid later carried out significant improvements in 1926, helping create one of the toughest links challenges that the country has to offer.

Many golfers consider the Championship course to be one of the toughest links courses in the world, with deep bunkers, thick rough and several burns providing constant danger throughout the round. The strong coastal winds add to the challenge of the course placing great importance on accurate and strategic shots.

Ranked 11th in the UK and 34th in the world, Carnosuite Golf Links has hosted the Open championship on eight different occasions with 2018 being the most recent. The course has also been host for the Women's British Open and Senior Open Championship.
