County Sligo Golf Club

County Sligo Golf Club was established in 1894 when George Combe designed the original nine-hole course at Rosses Point. The course was extended to eighteen holes in 1906 by Willie Campbell before renowned architect Harry Colt was brought in to completely redesign the layout in 1927.

The Championship Links stretches to around 7,250 yards and offers a traditional coastal challenge situated by the dramatic backdrop of Benbulben Mountain. Elevated tees, deep bunkers, firm fairways and exposed greens provide the main difficulty, while changing Atlantic winds can dramatically affect the difficulty of the course.

The course is currently ranked 13th in Ireland by Irish Golfer and 8th by Top 100 Golf Courses, with a rich history in hosting prestigious competitions such as Irish PGA Championship / Professional Events and Irish Close Championship.
