Cruden Bay Golf Club

The links Course was commissioned by the Great North of Scotland Railway Company during the 1890s. Old Tom Morris designed the course with assistance from Archie Simpson and it officially opened in 1899. Tom Simpson and Herbert Fowler then carried out a major redesign in 1926, creating much of the distinctive layout we see today.

Measuring over 6,600 yards from the tips, the Championship Course at Cruden Bay is a challenging test that demands accuracy, skill, and careful judgment from golfers. This rugged links course offers remarkable features, including towering sand dunes, blind shots, undulating fairways, and stunning sea views.

Whilst the Championship course at Cruden Bay may not have a rich history of hosting professional competitions, the course is widely recognised as one of the best in Scotland ranking 10th in the country and 70th in the world by Top 100 Courses.
