Donegal Golf Club

Donegal Golf Club was originally established near Donegal Town in 1960 before moving to the Murvagh Peninsula during the early 1970s. Irish architect Eddie Hackett was commissioned to design the new eighteen-hole course, which opened to the public in 1973. Pat Ruddy later carried out several alterations and improvements.

The course at Donegal Golf Club is one of the longest championship links in Europe measuring 7453 yards from the tips. The layout consists of two loops of 9  with the outer holes more exposed to the Atlantic, while the inner nine receives slightly more protection, although strong sea breezes remain a constant challenge.

Currently ranked 24th in Ireland by top 100 Courses, Donegal Golf Club has previously hosted the Men's Irish Close Championship and Ladies Irish Open.
