Elie Links

It has been documented that golf has been played over the linksland between Elie and Earlsferry since 1589 making it the third oldest golf course in the world. The Golf House Club itself was founded in 1875, while the course gradually developed from shorter layouts before becoming eighteen holes in 1895. Old Tom Morris is generally credited with shaping the final eighteen-hole course.

Measuring just over 6200 yards from the whites, Elie is a short but very tricky golfing experience. The course has strategically placed bunkers, blind shots, undulating fairways, and fast greens that will catch even the most skilled golfers out. The first tee features a famous blind opening shot over a 30-foot dune. To check if the fairway is clear, the starter uses an operational periscope salvaged from the Royal Navy submarine HMS Excalibur.

Ranked 21st in the country by Scotland's Top 100 Courses Eli Golf House Club has hosted The British Seniors Championship And The Scottish Professionals Championship.
