Gailes Links Glasgow

Glasgow Golf Club was founded in 1787, making it the 10th oldest golf club in the world. As its city courses became increasingly crowded, the club established a separate links course on the Ayrshire coast at Gailes, which officially opened in 1892. Willie Fernie later altered the early layout before two-time Open Champion Willie Park Junior carried out a major redesign in 1912.

The par 71 course stretches 6903 yards from the championship tees and provides a traditional links challenge filled with heather, gorse and strategically positioned bunkers. Its narrow fairways place great importance on accurate driving, while the exposed coastal location means strong winds can dramatically change the difficulty of the course.

The Championship course has hosted The Open Championship Final Qualifying and the Scottish PGA Championship. The course is currently ranked 44th in the country by Top 100 Courses.
