Gullane Golf Club No. 1 Course

Eight local gentlemen established the official Gullane Golf Club to properly fund and maintain the grounds. The No.1 Course developed gradually across the natural linksland and its original design is unknown. Its layout was later adjusted when the club’s first clubhouse opened in 1900

No.1 is the longest and most challenging of Gullane’s three courses, climbing to the top of Gullane Hill before dropping towards the coast and returning inland. Firm fairways, a vast amount of deep pot bunkers, fast greens and strong winds provide a demanding links test, while the elevated holes offer outstanding views across the coastline.

The Course has hosted the The Open Championship Final Qualifying round on eight different occasions whilst also hosting the Ladies Scottish Open and Senior Open Championship. The Number 1 course is currently ranked 22nd in Scotland by Top 100 Golf Courses.
