Hankley Common Golf Club

The course was originally designed by local resident Edward Turle, and remnants of his layout can still be seen today. However, significant enhancements were made by James Braid  including adding another 9 holes in the early 20th century then Harry Colt made improvements on multiple holes.

The New "Purple" back tees are now in play extending Hankley's yardage to a lengthy and challenging 6,909 yards from the tips. With the course stretching over 160 acres of land, it is truly a remarkable venue that has hosted numerous amateur and professional events over the years. Described as one of the best inland layouts in the country, Hankley common provides a breathtaking heathland experience.

The course was ranked 23rd by Top 100 golf courses in 2025 developing a strong reputation as one of the country's finest championship heathland courses. The Ladies Open and the Senior Amateur Open have both been held at Hankley Common Golf Club.
