Hillside Golf Club

Opening as a 9 hole course in 1911 the course was situated on land that had been designed for farming purposes with no presence of the wild dunes it has today. Extending to a 18 hole course in 1925 the course was later redesigned by the famous Fred Hawtree in the 1960s introducing many holes that play through wild undulating sand dunes.

The course design is well-balanced, beginning with the opening 9 holes set along the flatter land adjacent to the railway line seen as a gentle start before the tricky second half of the course. The majority of golfers consider the back 9 to be the highlight of the course due to the amazing views and the highest and wildest dunes. Possessing some of the best closing holes of any course in the country, Hillside Golf Course possesses a great challenge for all levels of handicaps.

Ranking 27th in the country, Hillside has hosted many professional and amateur competitions including the PGA Championship and the British Masters.
