Kilmarnock Golf Club

Kilmarnock Golf Club was founded in 1887, with the original members first playing on a nine-hole course at Holmes Farm in Kilmarnock. In 1894 the club secured land at Barassie on the outskirts of Troon right next to the railway, and moved to its current home.Additional land was acquired during the 1990s, allowing nine new holes to be created and the modern Barassie Links to be formed.

The Barassie Links is a par 72 championship course made up of nine holes from the traditional layout and nine newer holes added during the 1990s. The course offers a classic Ayrshire links challenge with firm fairways, deep bunkers, fast greens and exposed coastal winds.

The course has been host for many prestigious competitions including the likes of The Open Championship Final Qualifying, The Women's Amateur Championship and the Amateur Championship. The course is currently ranked 52nd in Scotland by Top 100 Courses.
