Lahinch Golf Club

Lahinch Golf Club was founded in 1892 after Alexander Shaw and members of the Black Watch Regiment. Old Tom Morris redesigned the course in 1894 before Alister MacKenzie carried out a major redevelopment in 1927. Martin Hawtree later restored and modernised the course during the late 20th century, including rerouting four of the holes.

The breathtaking links layout is a par-72 stretching nearly 6,950. Blind shots, deep bunkers, firm fairways and fast undulating greens provide the main challenge, while famous holes such as the blind par 3 “Dell” give Lahinch a distinctive character rarely found on modern courses.

The course has been venue for the Palmer Cup, Walker Cup and Dubai Duty Free Irish Open which was won by Jon Rahm in 2019. The course is currently ranked 10th in Great Britian and Ireland and 32nd in the world by Top 100 Courses
