Longniddry Golf Club

Longniddry Golf Club was formed in 1921 with the owner hiring famous golf architect Harry Colt to design an eighteen-hole course. James Braid advised on later alterations in 1936 before Philip Mackenzie Ross redesigned parts of the linksland following the course being ploughed up and used for food productions for the Second World War.

The course is a unique blend of parkland and links, measuring 6,271 yards from the white tees. Though it’s a short par-68 course with no par 5s, it’s deceptively challenging. Longniddry has open fairways and large greens, but with strong winds, long par 4s, strategically placed bunkers and punishing rough, scoring well can be a real challenge.

The course has been the chosen venue for the British Seniors Championship, Open Championship Qualifying and the World Series Championship in 1972. Longniddry is ranked 51st in Scotland by Top 100 Golf Courses.
