Mount Juliet Estate

The championship course at Mount Juliet was designed by legendary golfer Jack Nicklaus and officially opened in 1991 with an exhibition match between Nicklaus and Christy O'Connor Senior. It was created as a modern parkland course across the historic Kilkenny estate and has since developed into one of Ireland's best-known inland tournament venues.

The par 72 course stretches to 7,264 yards and features more than 80 bunkers alongside five lakes which influence several holes. Wide manicured fairways lead to large, fast greens, while water hazards and heavily protected approaches demand accurate iron play. Many Golfers comment on the American-style championship feel it has.

The course has hosted the Irish open on five separate occasions with Nick Faldo being victorious in 1993, Tiger Woods also won the WGC-American Express Championship in 2002. The Inland course is currently ranked 30th in Ireland by Top 100 Courses.
