Murcar Links Golf Course

Murcar Links Golf Club was established in 1909 on rugged coastal land north of Royal Aberdeen. Archie Simpson, who was the professional and green keeper at Royal Aberdeen, designed the original layout which opened later that year. James Braid and George Smith later recommended improvements during the 1930s.

The par 71 links features rolling fairways, natural dunes, burns and numerous deep bunkers while the exposed North Sea setting creates constantly changing wind conditions. Accurate shots are essential as tight fairways and strong costal winds add to the links challenge.

The Championship course has hosted numerous different amateur competitions including the likes of Scottish Amateur Stroke Play Championship and European Girls' Team Championship. The course regular features in the countries top 100 courses, ranking 38th by Top 100 Courses.
