Nairn Golf Club

Nairn Golf Club was founded in 1887 when Andrew Simpson created the original course along the shores of the Moray Firth. Old Tom Morris then extended the layout  in 1890 before James Braid later made substantial changes to the greens and bunkering. Ben Sayers also added new holes in 1920, while Mackenzie & Ebert carried out a major restoration programme beginning in 2018 making it the renowned championship it is today.

The Championship course is a true links masterpiece with fairways featuring rumpled dunes, tricky humps, hollows, and dense fields of punishing gorse and heather. The fast greens and strong winds also add to the challenge that thinks links has to offer.

The course has been host for prestigious amateur competitions such as the The Curtis Cup, The Amateur Championship and the Walker Cup. The course currently is ranked 19th in the country.
