Portmarnock Resort – Jameson Golf Links

Golf on the Portmarnock Estate dates back to the 1850s when John Jameson created a private nine-hole course through the dunes. The modern links began construction in 1992 when Bernhard Langer and Stan Eby were commissioned to design a new championship course, which opened for play in 1995. A major redevelopment began in 2022, introducing new greens, tees and routing changes, before the course was renamed Jameson Golf Links in 2023.

The course provides a modern links experience beside the Velvet Strand, with rolling fairways, natural dunes, revetted bunkers and exposed greens. Recent changes have opened up more views towards the Irish Sea, Lambay Island and Ireland's Eye, while the combination of coastal winds and heavily contoured green complexes makes accurate approach play particularly important.

The course currently ranks 26th in Ireland according to Top 100 Courses, while it may not be as popular as Portmarnock Golf Club it has still hosted competitions such as the The Irish Challenge and Ladies Irish Open.
