Royal County Down- Ainsley Course

The Annesley Links developed alongside the Championship Course as Royal County Down expanded its golfing facilities during the early 20th century. The course takes its name from the Annesley family, whose estate provided the original land on which the club was founded. Donald Steel made adjustments and added a new hole in 2005.

While the Annesley Course may not be as well-known as the Championship Course, it offers the same stunning scenery and presents a thrilling challenge for golfers. Measuring just 4,548 yards from the back tees, the course features no par 5s and six par 3s. Many holes present risk-reward opportunities, players can attempt to reach the green off the tee on several par 4s, but wayward shots will be punished by the thick rough.

The Annesley is currently ranked 82nd in Ireland by Irish Golfer following its recent improvements. It does not possess the major tournament history of the Championship Links but provides a shorter and more accessible version of the Royal County Down experience
