Royal Lytham & St Annes Golf Club (Open Championship Venue)

Founded in 1886 the course went through extensive changes in 1919 with Harry Colt implementing recommendations for significant improvement. In 1926 King George V gave the club his official approval to add the word “Royal” to the club's title just months before its first time hosting the Open Championship.

Royal Lytham & St Annes is renowned for its challenging layout and is regarded as one of the most difficult courses on the Open Championship rota. Its sand hills and pot bunkers present significant hazards, while the firm, fast greens add to the course's notorious difficulty.

Recognised as one of the best links courses in the world, the course has hosted eleven Open Championships, two Ryder Cups, alongside multiple other major professional and amateur golf competitions.
