Royal Portrush- Valley Course

The Valley Links was also largely shaped by Harry Colt during his work at Royal Portrush in the early 1930s. The course has undergone significant changes in recent years after land was used to create the new Dunluce 7th and 8th holes ahead of the 2019 Open. Further redesign work has since introduced new holes and restored older features, giving the Valley a considerably stronger modern layout.

The Valley is shorter than the Dunluce but still provides a genuine championship links experience through rolling dunes close to the Atlantic. The course has relatively few bunkers compared with its famous neighbour, placing greater emphasis on natural slopes, firm greens and changing coastal winds.

Following its recent redevelopment, the course is ranked 18th in Ireland and Northern Ireland. The extensive changes have greatly increased its reputation as a course in its own right instead of just a neighbor to the famous Dunluce.
