St Andrews New Course

St Andrews, known as the “Home of Golf,” is considered the most iconic golf club in the world. The club has been welcoming players for over 600 years. Built due to overcrowding at the famous St Andres Old Course, the New course is famously known as being the oldest “new course” in the world designed by Old Tom Morris in 1895.

Situated next to its famous neighbor, some locals place it as their favourite due to the course being tighter and more defined than the Old. Measuring just over 6500 yards from the black tees, it’s a relatively short course, but with the strong winds and punishing rough, it is a classic test of Links golf.

The course has been venue for many prestigious competitions such as the The Scottish PGA Championship /Tartan Tour and Open Championship Qualifying. St Andrews New Course ranked 26th in the country by Top 100 Courses.
