Trump International Golf Links

Old Course

Donald Trump acquired the 570-hectare Menie Estate in 2006 and finally gained approval by the council in 2010 to create a course on the beautiful links land. The Old course at Trump International Golf Links opened in 2012 on the Menie Estate north of Aberdeen. Renowned architect Martin Hawtree designed the layout through the vast natural dune system

The par 72 championship courses stretches 7,428 yards from the tips, with five different tee boxes for golfers to chose from. The course features huge dunes up to 100ft high, deep natural bunkers and wide rolling fairways. Significant elevation changes provide spectacular coastal views while the exposed setting brings wind into play throughout the round.

In its short history the old course has been venue for the Staysure PGA Seniors Championship from 2023 and the DP World Tour Nexo Championship in 2025 and 2026. The course is currently ranked 11th in the country and 77th globally by Top 100 Courses.

New Course

In May 2023 Construction formally commenced following a groundbreaking ceremony led by Donald and Eric Trump. The course was designed by Martin Hawtree and officially opened in 2025 with Donald trump playing the first official round at the venue.

Unlike the Old course only 6 holes are along the coast which offering a different challenge for golfers. The New Course Includes sheltered corridors lined with heather and unique sandy-scrapes instead of traditional heavily-revetted pot bunkers. However the championship course still features the links characteristics of towering sand dunes, natural bunkers, and infinity-edge greens.

The New Course at Trump International Golf Links has quickly built up its reputation as its currently ranked 24th in Scotland by Top 100 Courses.
