West Lancashire Golf Club

Founded in 1873 in Blundellsands, Liverpool, the West Lancashire Golf Club is one of the ten oldest clubs in England and features one of the most authentic and challenging links courses in the British Isles. The layout that is present today was designed by C.K Colten who made major changes in introducing the two loops of 9 holes.

This is a reasonably short links course located in a natural seaside terrain measuring just over 7000 yards from the tips. West Lancashire Golf Club is particularly demanding due to its thick rough, bunkered greens and unpredictable winds which presents a significant challenge for any level of golfer.

West Lancashire co hosted the Amateur Championship alongside Royal Liverpool golf club in 2026. The course was also selected to be the venue to host the final qualifying for the Open Championships from 2023-2026.
